You consider yourself a bit of a history freak, but at the same time you love activities that will make you sweat a little bit? This hiking tour on the Marjan hill is then made just for you.

You have already learned a lot about Split history in one of many walking tours that this city offers and now you want to experience something different? The perfect place to do it is the Marjan hill. The locals adore it, so they spend every second of their free time there, cycling, jogging or simply enjoying the fresh air. They call it the lungs of Split.

On this tour you will discover the most peaceful hidden paths of this green sanctuary and enjoy the most stunning views of the islands that surround Split.

The tour starts at the beginning of the promenade Riva and it takes you all to the furthest end of the park. On the way, you’ll be able to choose whether you want to visit the Split ZOO. It is not actually a Zoo, but more a place where you can see (and feed!) domestic animals such as cows, goats, sheep. The visit to the ZOO is optional and ticket is paid separately.

The view from the top, which is exactly 314 steps up from the ZOO is breathtaking: Split, the islands, the sea… If you are lucky enough to reach it in the dusk, you’ll be even more amazed.

From the top, the tour continues through a little forest that leads to several, early-Christian church, some of them are even built inside of the rock itself, isn’t that amazing?
